Welcome to the home page for AIA Orlando's Women In Architecture Committee
With a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to inclusivity, WIA Orlando’s mission is to develop, advocate, and celebrate the advancement of local women in leadership, build a community network composed of supportive and engaging advocates for women in architectural professions, and curate access to quality architectural career resourceswith the unique perspective from locally influential women.
Through shared activities and affinity of interests and professional development, the WIA Orlando community creates a culture for building lasting relationships that extend beyond the workplace, facilitating space that welcomes people to connect and engage. This community champions each other’s successes, works to expand opportunities for women in the field, and fosters pathways to leadership that pave the way for the next generation while learning from previous generations.
The WIA Orlando community has been growing through the decades and is currently served and supported by a Leadership Team of 8-10 women lead by a Chair & Chair-Elect (Vice-Chair) each serving one-year terms in their respective roles. The Leadership team plans and delivers events and leadership initiatives throughout the year to enhance the Women in Architecture community. The leadership team meets monthly on the First Tuesday along with a series of annual planning and succession meetings in the Fall. The WIA community is supported and enabled to accomplish the mission through engaging with a community of sponsors from the industry and allied members, personal contributions, and many volunteer opportunities – contact us to contribute today!
WIA Orlando is more than a committee, it’s an active community dedicated to making architecture a field where women lead and thrive, not only reshaping architecture but also cultivating a community that values connection, mentorship, and shared success.
