Ramp Build Project 

 

AIA Orlando partnered with the Center For Independent Living for a Ramp Build Project.

The Center for independent living sponsors and works with individuals with disabilities to facilitate access to their residences.

 

On October 7th and October 14th, 2017 an access handicap ramp was built in Oviedo, Florida with the help from volunteers from HKS Architects as well as other AIA Orlando members and allied members. AIA provided funding for the ramp as well as volunteers for both morning and afternoon shifts.

 

The ramp was built for a resident of Orange County who needed wheelchair access to their home due to a hip replacement and knee replacement surgery.
