| Description | Administers the City's Historic Preservation program encompassing the designation of historic landmarks and districts as well as design review of proposed modifications to historic structures and other resources. Includes preparing reports and presenting recommendations of the Historic Preservation Board, other City boards, and the City Council; providing information and assistance to the general public; coordinating all aspects of the design review and permitting process including minor review; administering the ad valorem tax exemption program, Section 106 reviews, and National Register nominations as the Certified Local Government coordinator; representing the City's Planning Division and Historic Preservation board at public hearings and meetings; and working with City staff on matters concerning historic resources. Requires a high degree of professionalism and sound independent judgment. |
